Special Purpose
Monitran Special Purpose Sensors extend the range of vibration analysis and monitoring tasks that can be undertaken by modifying the design or sensor type. Thus, models can be selected that can:
- work at more elevated temperatures
- work at lower frequencies
- measure different vibration parameters
- permit simultaneous measurement of temperature
- permit more than one vibration parameter to be measured simultaneously by the same sensor
Monitran has a wide range of special sensors many of which can be found in the categories on the left. Monitran’s bespoke design capabilities can be called on to provide almost any combination of sensor style, operating environment and output or combined outputs.

General purpose, top-entry, constant current accelerometer with isolated AC output. Made from robust stainless steel throughout for long term vibration analysis in harsh environments. Includes 25mm base, integral TNC connector and available with a wide range of mountings. Uses coaxial cable (not twin core shielded like the 1100 which also has internal shielding and isolated electronics) and thus shows lower immunity to electrical interference.

The MTN/1700I series wideband acoustic emission sensors are designed to provide signals to appropriately approved data-collector and used for monitoring the performance of large industrial control valves situated in hazardous areas. The sensor provides a high frequency acoustic emission signal, a dc voltage output proportional to temperature and a serial ident signal. The sensor has a robust cylinder stainless-steel body designed to fit control valves being monitored.
